SeaLife Park!

Image
Have you been to SeaLife Park? Here's a little bit of information about the park, what to expect and what you might want to bring.  One of our family's favorite things about the park is the dolphin show.  Today the show was at 12:15pm at the dolphin lagoon and it did not disappoint. The trainers work not only to entertain but also educate the audience on the sea life and ocean/dolphin conservation.  Great things about Sea Life Park... It's not huge, not overwhelming  They offer different educational shows every 15 minutes Lots of clean bathrooms Lots of food options  There's a great small playground Very stroller friendly  There are cooling/misting stations Opportunities to purchase an "up close and personal" shark or dolphin experience Parking available on the property for $5 Lots of hand sanitizing stations available. What else would you add?  I think the best discount on tickets can be found at the MWR ITT ticket offices. Children (ages 3 to 12) are $15 and

Empty Elle Bagel & Elvin's Bakery

Are you stationed on Oahu or headed here soon?  We're so #LuckyWeLiveHawaii ...not just because of the beautiful beaches, great weather and endless list of things to do, but because of the food scene!  There are so many great restaurants, hole in the wall spots, bakeries and award winning chefs on this little rock in the middle of the ocean!  I'm going to highlight two cool spots I checked out this week.  Visit my blog page on Facebook "Bloom Where You Are Anchored", or Instagram, for more fun ideas on things to do, see and taste!  The first spot I'd like to highlight is Elvin's Bakery, located in Honolulu in the Kapalama Shopping Plaza off Dillingham Boulevard.  This month Elvin's is offering their delicious and popular moon cakes. Have you ever heard of a moon cake? Did you see them featured in a new Netflix movie called "Over The Moon"?  If you've never heard of them, "A  moon cake is a Chinese bakery product traditionally eaten durin

Aiea Loop Trail!

Image
Have you hiked the 4.9 mile Aiea Loop Trail before?  It's a great, mostly shaded, easy to follow trail through different types of terrain and a neat view of H3 and the tunnels leading to the windward side of Oahu!  You will find lots of information about this trail and others on the free "All Trails" App. Highly recommend this download if you love to hike! I recommend hiking this trail during the dry season. This week it was dry!  If you hike after a lot of rain, expect to be a mudball by the time you're done with this big loop!  We saw plenty of other hikers, runners, even people walking with a pet along this great trail.  Plenty of parking available, along with public restrooms.  Make sure to leave the park by 645pm! Happy hiking! 👣
