The Pig and the Lady in Chinatown

Wowee, wow. That's what I have to say about "The Pig and the Lady" in Chinatown. We had been wanting to go for a looooong time and we finally had a chance to check it out, with our kids, today for lunch. We made a reservation, which I highly recommend, as they are VERY popular. Loved all of the dishes we tried, here's a little breakdown...
First off, they are pretty kid friendly! They have funny pig menus for the kids with the little keiki menu (pho, brisket slider and milk, water juice) on one side and the other side can fold up to look like a cute pig to color. They also had crayons for the kids and offered us a kid sized ice cream dessert at the end of our meal ($2 each).
My kiddo was being "the pig" and said I was "the lady".  I asked our server about the name. It's named for the owner and his mom, who is a great cook.

Funny piggy menus

Chopsticks for everyone, I brought along apple slices for the kids so they tried their skills at chopsticks.
A little window into the kitchen...a chef was inside the window slicing up fresh strawberries for our lilikoi malasada dessert we ordered later...

Neat little eat catching drawers behind the bar...
Piggy everything!  The owner was born in the year of the pig...
We tried the water recommended chicken wing appetizer -- zesty, tangy, crunchy, delicious!
Gotta have entertainment if we bring the kids...the puzzle was a hit, took him half the meal to complete.
I ordered the french dip sandwich. Wow. So yum.

Today's lunch menu. The waiter said they change it up a lot.
Walking down Smith street from the parking garage to the restaurant...look at that pair go on their moped! Wheeee
The bathroom was funny! All decked out in "Big Trouble in Little China" movie pictures with a funny green light and funny music playing.

Kid size ice cream -- pretty large! Today's soft serve was toasted macadamia nut and a pineapple sorbet, they gave our kids a swirl of both flavors, which they both devoured!
Our lilikoi stuffed malasada dessert with black sesame ice cream on the side, black sesame flavor tastes a lot like peanut butter! Amazing!!

Ta-da! Finished the puzzle and the meal.
We parked for 1.5 hours for $1.50 on Saturday afternoon at the Marin Tower Parking lot off Smith street, right around the corner from the restaurant.

Highly recommend!

Another dessert selection...
My hubby ordered the Beef Pho. He loved it and this was a very large portion. It came with a smaller bowl that he filled 3 or 4 times from this large one.
